Over the moon...

Last night we had a really nice view of the moon so I thought it would be fun to see what type of photos I could take at night.

I setup my tripod, attached the big, heavy lens (18-250mm zoom) to my camera and this is what I saw...

Not quite exactly what I saw with my eye but still kind of neat.  Unfortunately, my lens wasn't powerful enough to see the dark color variations in the moon.

Oh Bob, maybe a 2x tele-converter would do the trick!

I'll add it to my list of camera equipment desires!  ;-)

A girl can hope, right?

Kisses from Q...

Yesterday, I had a visit from two friends from high school, Laurie and Michelle and their kiddos, Audrey and Jeremiah.  We had a really nice visit and I believe the kids enjoyed themselves as well...
And you.know.who. had to get in on the action!  Gotta love kisses from Q!

Jeremiah's favorite part of the visit...the toy cars and trucks!
He's so cute here just chillin'...
And here we have lil' Miss Audrey a.d.o.r.a.b.l.y. sitting on the timeout bench.  I was so impressed at how well she did while in T/O!  SO cute how she was making sure she didn't miss a thing...
What a great time - thanks Laurie and Michelle for visiting!  Thanks also for the delicious roasted tomato soup and (BEST EVER) homemade oatmeal rolls, Laurie!

JUMP!

This is a GREAT way to start out any family photo session (at least for those under age 50ish...we don't need any broken hips or ankles!)...
Thanks Melissa, Dave and kiddos (Bob's cousin Miss was actually the FLOWER GIRL in our wedding!!).  You guys REALLY kept me on my toes (no names mentioned...BRODY)!!  ;-)  Here's just a snippet of a few of your photos...
Ok, that's it for now!  I'm half way there...

Gotta keep you in suspense for the rest so you'll stay tuned...

Pumpkin patch fun...

Last week I went to the BEST pumpkin patch around for some pumpkin pickin' and what a fun time it was!  My friend Tina and her kiddos (Karly and Brady) have some mighty "orange" green thumbs!  (I'm almost sure Barry should be included in that too!) :-)

Our friend, Emily-Anne's sons, Cole and Daven, were a blast to watch as they tried to pick out the PERFECT pumpkin...and drag it through the pumpkin patch!  They were too cute!
These boys were FAST moving and it was getting close to dusk so I couldn't set my shutter speed quite high enough to match their energy!  :-)
See what I mean...(this is what happens when you say "smile" to Daven - the eyes immediately go closed!)...
Love, love, love this shot of boys being boys...(and doing what they LOVE to do - dig in the dirt!)
You know if there's a motor on it, the boys HAVE to check it out...or in this case, sit on it! Brady is in the background just chillin'!
While I was trying to snap photos left and right, my pal Karly was on "dog-duty".  She's the BEST dog sitter around!  Thanks Miss Karly!
Wouldn't you know, when the sun drops out of the sky this time of year, you're slightly out of luck, I mean light!

Oh wait, maybe BOTH!  ;-)
Happy Fall everyone!  ;-)

Mr. Smiley...

On Monday, it was a beautifully sunny day so my friend, Susan, and her grand-son, Nolan, decided to do a little mini-shoot.  This little guy is going to be ONE YEAR OLD in a few short weeks so we thought we'd capture some shots before his big b-day.  He's seriously one of the happiest kiddos I've ever seen...I think he's spoiling me because HE makes it SO easy to take his picture!

To view the entire mini-shoot on The View Through My Lens, click here.

Check out how happy he is...

Didn't I tell you he was a happy one?!  :-)

The vows...

To have and to hold
from this day forward,
In sickness and in health
til death do us part...

Love of a lifetime...

(Sorry to your Facebookers if this is a duplication for you. I probably should've posted this first then linked to it on FB...still learning the FB ropes!)  :-)

19 years ago (Tuesday 9/18) I married my very best friend, my "Love of a Lifetime" (still love ya Firehouse!). Today, we revisited the exact location where we said our vows, a place that will be forever in our hearts! And what a gorgeous day it was, very much like our wedding day! We also stopped at "The Green" in Wellsboro to visit Winkum, Blinkum and Nod.

We took Pizza Hut pizza, soda and cinnamon sticks to the Canyon and had ourselves a little make-shift picnic!  We had so much fun that we stayed at the Canyon for about 2 hours!

May the next 19 be as wonderful as the last 19+ have been!  ;-)

Comments tutorial...

I've had a few people tell me that they would like to leave a comment on some of my posts but they don't know how to do it so hopefully after this post, I'll be hearing from some of you faithful readers!!  :-)

Many of you receive The Quincy Kronicles via your email which is super convenient for you.  Unfortunately, this doesn't allow you to immediately insert a comment.  So for those of you wanting to tell me your thoughts, simply click the "title" that appears at the very top of each blog post when it is delivered in your email.

It's really as easy as 1-2-3!

For instance, the post from 9/3/12 looks something like this in my email editor (and it should be very similar to what you see in your email editor):
Each time you receive the post in your email, you'll notice a "title" at the very top of the post, in this case, "Rockin' Reilly...".

Here goes the 1 of the 1-2-3...

1.)  All you have to do is click (or ctrl+click) on that title in YOUR email and the post should open up a window on your browser, Internet Explorer for example which would look like this...
2.) Next, simply scroll to the bottom of that post and you'll see a comments section that looks something like this...
3.) Type your comment in the box, select "Anonymous" (unless you have a Google account and want to login via Google to leave your comment), and click preview or publish (be sure to sign your name w/in your comment that you type so I know who you are!).

See, I told you that it was as easy as 1-2-3!!

Now go and give it a try!

You CAN'T mess it up!

Seriously, start clicking and typing and before you know it, you'll be a pro!

Next thing you know, I'll be writing a post retracting THIS post!!  ;-)

Just kidding!

Maybe, I'm kidding...
